What is silk screen printing?

Silk screen printing is a printing method in which a plate is made for each color and printed with ink, as a maximum of four colors.
Because of its resistance to washing, many apparel products and event items use this printing method.
Also called silk printing, silk printing, and silk screen.
In silk screen printing, holes are made in a mesh-like plate according to the design, and ink is dropped and printed only in the holes.
This printing method is recommended for those who want to make large quantities at a low cost, as the same design can be printed on the same plate to keep costs down!

Precautions for silk screen print data

Gradient and translucent processing

Silk screen printing cannot use gradation or translucent processing because each color is printed on its own plate. Please understand this.

Wire thickness should be 2Pt (0.7mm) or thicker.

Lines less than 2pt (0.7mm) will be difficult to print and may not print correctly.
Margins between elements should be at least 3pt (1.1mm).
Font size should be 9pt or larger.

Data created with business software is not acceptable.

・Excel, Word, Powerpoint and other business software files
・Images imported from a website (due to low resolution)
・Paint software installed as standard in Windows

Text (characters) must be outlined

If a font is on the customer's computer but not on another computer, it will be replaced by a different font when opened on the other computer.
Once outlined, the text will appear in the same font no matter which computer you open it on.

Separate layers by color

For designs with multiple colors, please save a separate layer for each color.

Printing Precautions

We print the design data received from the customer as it is.
Colors and other appearances may differ slightly from your monitor, environment, printed product and your image of the colors and other appearances.

Due to the nature of printing using plates, there may be a slight shift from the specified print position to the top, bottom, left or right.
Please understand this in advance.

Light-colored areas in the design are slightly affected by the color of the fabric (T-shirt).
Please note that the finished color may differ when printing on dark-colored Custom T-shirts.
