"Dedicated to the Sunflowers of That Summer" is about a traumatic experience during my childhood summer vacation when I had eye contact with a suspicious neighbor who would peek into our house through the window. As it turns out, she was unable to have children and was harassing our family. Perhaps because we were neighbors, we couldn't help but be aware of it. Perhaps she was harassing us out of a feeling of sadness rather than hatred. But that doesn't mean we should traumatize our children. My feelings toward the sad monster are a mixture of hatred and sympathy. Just the hot summer sun was shining on us like sunflowers. I included that beauty.
